We are now in a time when political correctness seems to have taken a nose dive. Only a few public personalities, our role models, seem to have preserved the habit of respecting other people. But maybe it’s time to be raw and honest and call a spade what it is: a shovel to dig up the truth. Except that one person’s idea of truth seems to differ from another’s today. Facts can become whatever you want them to become and the Alice in Wonderland state of misinformation, abuse and craziness just goes on and on and on.

I was looking forward to another P C time: post Covid. Thank God, no one close to me died during this time but I felt it for those who lost loved ones and eagerly looked forward to the end of the plague. I passed the year writing from morning to night. It comforted me, gave me something to wake up for, was my mental and emotional healer.

I assumed that come the end of the Pandemic, we would be exhaling. We would be closer as a country and as a world. How wrong I was! We seem even more divided and contentious. What will it take for us to realize that we are in this life together, we are one, all of us, responsible for each other, needing to respect each other? Will it be in my lifetime? Somehow, I doubt it.
